Financially healthy and well postioned to meet its customers' needs for the future.
Alameda Power & Telecom is financially healthy and well positioned to meet its customers’ needs for the future. The utility posts a very strong A- credit rating. Operating revenues from the coming fiscal year will exceed $55.6 million. Additionally, because our energy prices are lower, energy bills for Alameda schools and city services are lower, which saves taxpayer dollars.
Alameda Power & Telecom is both a department and an enterprise fund of the City of Alameda. As an enterprise fund, Alameda Power & Telecom has separate accounting and financial reporting which tracks all expenditures, revenues, and debt. Under enterprise accounting, revenues and expenditures are segregated into a separate fund with its own financial statements, rather than commingled with the revenues and expenses of all other City governmental activities.
