What are the facts about the Digital TV Conversion that will occur in February 2009?
In February 2009 television stations will broadcast in digital only. Get all the facts on this technological conversion and how it may affect you.

What channels are available in high definition?
Alameda Power & Telecom carries the digital/HD channels from KTVU (Fox), KNTV (NBC), KRON (Independent), KPIX (CBS), KBCW (CW)KGO (ABC) and KQED (PBS), in addition to a number of cable networks in high-definition (FSN Bay Area, ESPN, ESPN2, Discovery HD Theater, Universal HD, HD Movies, HD Net, HBO, Showtime and Starz!).
What is the difference between Basic Cable, Expanded Cable and Digital Cable?
Basic Cable includes all local stations with the addition of cable news stations and Discovery. Expanded Cable includes 44 cable stations, such as Comedy Central, E! and the Disney Channel. Digital Cable includes 37 digital music channels and 35 extra channels such as Noggin, Women's Entertainment, and the Golf Channel.

How do I sign up?
You may check for service availability and, if service is available at your address, place an order online. Or you may call 510-748-3900, and place an order with one of our Customer Service Representatives.
When I subscribe, will my cable service and electricity bill be combined?
No, your electricity and cable bills are totally separate.
What should I expect at the installation?
An Alameda Power & Telecom cable installer will come to your house during the time specified, and install the cable and equipment to the televisions you wish to have service. At the time of installation, he will do a premise walk through to determine the best route for installation.
What if my residence is rental unit?
We will require a letter of permission to be signed by the owner or the property management group. Although in many cases we can use the existing wiring, this is not always the case.
