David Tennant is the BEST! Reviewer: webgeekstress from Prague on 07/31/07 I was a Doctor Who fan way back when Tom Baker was the Doctor, though I never took well to any of the subsequent Doctors.
When I heard that BBC was bringing the series back and that the SciFi channel was airing it, I was a little doubtful, but sufficiently intrigued to check it out.
I have to say that I was *not* a great fan of Chris Eccleston in the revival's first season. While he's a fine actor (and I've liked him in Heroes), I found his take on the Doctor to be a little too callous.
David Tennant, on the other hand, who took over the role with season two, is *wonderful*. As the last Time Lord, he nicely balances a wistfulness with some of the playfulness that characterized Tom Baker's Doctor. And while he isn't as callous as Eccleston's Doctor, there is definitely steel under that lighthearted exterior.
Check it out. |
