An A/B switch is a mechanical selector device that allows you to choose
which signal source your TV uses at any given time. Examples of TV
signal sources include the coaxial cable through which you receive
Alameda Power & Telecom service, as well as "rabbit-ears",
roof-top antennas, etc. You may also find an A/B switch useful for
connecting a home video-game system, or for advanced TV viewing options,
such as watching one channel while recording another.
At your request, we will sell and/or install A/B switches for you
on any TV in your home that is connected to our cable service for
the cost of equipment and at our hourly service rate. You may also
choose to purchase and install A/B switches yourself. If you request
Alameda Power & Telecom to make an A/B switch connection to
an outdoor antenna, that antenna must be operational and installed
in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, codes, and regulations,
including those requiring grounding.
