Emergencies

In electric emergency situations, current power alert information can be accessed at the WattLine at 814-5678. Also, you can listen to Radio Alameda at AM 1280, or check here at our website for the latest information.

Power outages are infrequent, but they sometimes do occur, and it's wise to be prepared for any emergency. Alameda Power & Telecom often knows about the problem and is working to solve it before you call.

In the case of an electrical outage, ready yourself ahead of time with a flashlight and battery powered radio. Check the home's circuit breakers to see if one or more have been tripped. If this is the case, contact a qualified electrician to remedy the problem. If your circuit breakers are not tripped, we suggest you check with a neighbor to see if the outage is just in your home before you contact Alameda Power & Telecom. Then, please call us to report the situation and find out how long it will be before power can be restored. While you wait, we suggest you turn off your electrical appliances to guard against potential damage when power is restored.
