Applicability

This schedule is applicable to high-speed cable Internet service where usable cable lines exist along Alameda Power & Telecom's (Alameda P&T's) telecommunications system. AlamedaNET Basic service is available to residential customers only. All other service plans are available to all customer classes.

Subject to the above applicability, customers may choose from among the following service plans:

Definitions and Special Conditions

  1. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
    The customer's computer must be capable of utilizing high-speed cable Internet service and must have a compatible network interface card (NIC) installed. In addition, the following minimum system requirements must be met in order to establish a cable Internet service connection:
    Operating System: Windows 95 or later Macintosh OS 7.5 or later
    Processor Pentium 100 MHz Power PC
    Memory 32 MB RAM 32 MB RAM
    Free Hard Disk Space 40 MB 40 MB
    Input Device 4X CD-ROM drive 4X CD-ROM drive
    Other 256 color display at 640x480 resolution  
  2. SERVICE LOCATION
    The above monthly Service Plan Rates and Service Plan Setup Fees apply to each location where service is requested. A Service Location is defined as an individual cable modem at the customer's premises. A customer requesting Internet access for multiple computers at a premise is encouraged to set up a network to allow such communication via a single cable modem. Alameda P&T will not install, configure, maintain or provide technical support for any such network. However, if a customer specifically requests multiple cable modem installations, each modem will be considered a separate Service Location. Additionally, each modem may require a separate cable drop to be installed at the customer's expense.
  3. DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONS
    At the direction of the General Manager and subject to summary reporting to the Public Utilities Board, Alameda P&T may utilize discounts and/or promotions to enhance customer acquisition strategies. These promotions may include the waiver of charges, offers for free service for a limited period of time, and other tactics that it deems appropriate.
  4. RULES AND REGULATIONS
    Other conditions, as specified in Alameda P&T's Rules and Regulations, shall apply to this rate schedule.
