Schedule A-1
GENERAL SERVICE
Applicability
This schedule is applicable to non-residential customers with single-phase or
polyphase alternating current service, or to a combination thereof, whose kW usage
is less than 500 kW per month for any 6 months out of the last 12 consecutive
months. This service is also applicable to separately-metered service to common
areas of multi-family accommodations. Customers may also be eligible for service
under Schedule A-2 if usage exceeds 8,000 kWh per month.
However, only one rate schedule change is allowed every 12 months except by mutual
agreement between the Customer and Alameda Power & Telecom (Alameda P&T).

State and Local Taxes
To the above charges will be added any applicable state and local taxes (refer to Rider UUT and Rider ERS for current tax rates) and charges for the state solar PV program (refer to Rider PV).
Definitions and Special Conditions
- DISTRIBUTION CHARGE
The charge for low voltage delivery of electric power at the local level, including billing
and metering costs.
- PUBLIC PURPOSE CHARGE
The California state-mandated charge supporting funding of energy efficiency, new renewable
resources, low-income, and research and development programs.
- GENERATION CHARGE
Charge recovering the cost of providing energy supply including generation and transmission
costs.
- UNMETERED UTILITY SERVICE
For multiple locations of essentially identical services, such as nodes/amplifiers for
telecommunications service, remote transmitting units for utility SCADA systems, or cathodic
protection rectifiers for natural gas or water pipelines, where the electric consumption is
roughly consistent at each separate location, Alameda P&T will sample-meter a small
number of locations of such utility service equipment to provide representative usage and
billing data. The remaining locations may be unmetered and will be billed based on either
a) the average consumption measured at the sample-metered site(s), or b) the calculated
consumption estimated from the equipment specifications and usage profile, as determined by
Alameda P&T. The sample-metered site(s) will be billed at the Standard Metered
Commercial Service rates, and the remaining unmetered sites will be billed at the Unmetered
Utility Service rates.
The customer is required to notify Alameda P&T in the event of any equipment
modifications, upgrades, changes, replacements, or any other event that would materially
impact electrical consumption at the unmetered locations. Alameda P&T reserves the
right to inspect the equipment at each location to verify equipment type, specifications, or
consumption estimates and to ensure the account is being properly billed.
- PRIMARY VOLTAGE DISCOUNT
When the customer owns all the transformers, and delivery hereunder is made at the same
voltage as that of the distribution line from which the service is supplied, a discount of
3% for 11 kV or higher available line voltages and 2% for available line voltages of from 2
kV to 10 kV will be applied to all charges except taxes, provided, however, Alameda P&T
is not required to supply service at a non-standard voltage. Alameda P&T retains the
right to change its line voltage at any time, after reasonable advance notice to any
customer receiving a discount hereunder and affected by such change, and such customer then
has the option to change its system so as to receive service at the new line voltage or to
accept service (without discount) through transformers to be supplied by Alameda
P&T.
- POWER FACTOR
Charges for any month as computed above will be adjusted for the power factor according to
Rider PF.
- RULES and REGULATIONS
Other conditions, as specified in Alameda P&T's
Rules and Regulations, shall apply to this rate
schedule.
