Energy Resources Surcharge

Purpose

The Energy Resources Surcharge was established in 1975 by the State of California to fund the California Energy Commission. All electric utilities in the state must collect and remit to the State Board of Equalization the amount of the applicable surcharge. The surcharge is subject to periodic revision by the Board of Equalization, but cannot exceed two-tenths of a mill ($0.00022) per kWh.

Applicability

This surcharge is applied to the bills for electric service for all Alameda Power & Telecom customers except the United States Government and its agencies, and certain other entities as described in Title 18, Division 2, Chapter 5, Article 2 of the California Code of Regulations.

Rate

$0.00022 per kWh for all kWh.
