Outdoor Street and Area Lighting

Applicability

This schedule is applicable to lighting provided to streets, private parking lots, other publicly dedicated areas or paths readily accessible to Alameda Power & Telecom (Alameda P&T) personnel. This schedule is not applicable to lighting service rendered to the City of Alameda for its street lighting system, which is covered under Schedule MU-2. The monthly usage charge includes the energy provided for lighting, as well as the cost and replacement of lamps, globes, and sensors. If the customer desires coverage for replacement and maintenance of light fixtures and/or light poles, Alameda P&T will contract to provide such coverage at the optional rates shown below.

State and Local Taxes

To the above charges, both metered and unmetered, will be added any applicable state and local taxes (refer to Rider UUT and Rider ERS for current tax rates).

Definitions and Special Conditions:

  1. BURNING SCHEDULE
    Service for unmetered usage will be calculated by Alameda P&T's Engineering Department (approximately 4380 hours per year).
  2. DISTRIBUTION CHARGE
    The charge for low voltage delivery of electric power at the local level, including billing and metering costs.
  3. PUBLIC PURPOSE CHARGE
    The California state-mandated charge supporting funding of energy efficiency, new renewable resources, low-income, and research and development programs.
  4. GENERATION CHARGE
    Charge recovering the cost of providing energy supply including generation and transmission costs.
  5. SERVICE VOLTAGE
    Service will be furnished at the nearest available voltage.
  6. SERVICE CONNECTION
    Service shall be at points convenient to Alameda P&T's lines, and connection shall be made at the customer's expense.
  7. NON-PROFITS
    At the discretion of Alameda P&T's General Manager, nonprofit, public benefit corporations, as defined by the Internal Revenue Code, may be granted an exemption from the Service charge for the purpose of providing area lighting for security and safety. Organizations should submit a written request to the General Manager. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  8. RULES and REGULATIONS
    Other conditions, as specified in Alameda P&T's Rules and Regulations, shall apply to this electric rate schedule.
