Alameda Power & Telecom is committed to both the efficient use of energy and assuring that Alameda is one of the greenest cities in the nation. That's why we have partnered with Energy Star® in creating our Refrigerator Rebate and Recycling Program.
How to Participate

While shopping for a new refrigerator, bring your Refrigerator Rebate and Recycling Program Application with you. |

Purchase a refrigerator that has the "Energy Star" label.
Important Notice:
Due to possible labeling errors, please verify that the refrigerator you are buying is Energy Star ® qualified by calling:
1-888-STAR-YES (toll free), or
510-748-3949, or
Check the Energy Star website:
Only refrigerators that appear on the Energy Star list qualify for the rebate. Refrigerators that are less than 14 cubic feet do not qualify for this program. |

Make sure the retailer gives you a sales receipt. |

Call Alameda Power & Telecom at 510-748-3949 to arrange for your old refrigerator to be picked up and recycled. Door must be taped shut and the refrigerator must be placed at the curb. Pick up is every Thursday. (For more on old refrigerator pickup) |

When Alameda Power & Telecom has verified that your old refrigerator has been properly recycled, you will receive your rebate check. |

Rules of Participation
- You must be an Alameda Power & Telecom residential customer.
- Only refrigerators that are 14 cu. ft. or larger and are ENERGY STAR labeled qualify for htis program.
- The ENERGY STAR refrigerator must have been purhcased within the last 12 months.
- Alameda Power & Telecom will accept applications on a
first-come, first-serve basis.
- Alameda Power & Telecom reserves the right to accept or
reject any application.
- The customer is responsible for mailing the application,
and for any taxes associated with this program.
- The old refrigerator must not be used as a second refrigerator,
or sold to be used by another person.
- The old refrigerator must be recycled by our recycler.

- Customer must complete an application and
attach a sales receipt.
- Alameda Power & Telecom is not responsible for
applications lost or delayed by mail.
