The Weatherization Cash Grant Program is for Alameda Power & Telecom
(Alameda P&T)
customers with electric heat. Alameda P&T pays 80% of the cost of weatherization.
You or your landlord pay 20%.
Program Guidelines
You must be an Alameda P&T customer.
The primary source of heat must be permanently installed electric heat (at least 70%).
The first priority measure is adding insulation. Other measures will be approved only if insulation can be added.
The maximum grant for a single family, duplex, or triplex is $960 per unit.
The maximum grant for a multi-family (four or more units) dwelling is $480 per unit.
The Do-It-Yourself Cash Grant Option pays up to 70% of the materials cost for
weatherization. All work must be approved by Alameda P&T and meet safety and quality
guidelines.

Call any contractor on the current Pre-approved Weatherization Contractor List and request a
free bid. You may call as many contractors as you want.
Alameda P&T may require a pre-installation energy audit.
Choose a pre-approved weatherization contractor and sign a contract with him/her.
The contract must state the measures and "This contract is not valid until approved by
Alameda P&T." The contractor will send the signed contract to Alameda P&T.
Alameda P&T will approved or disapprove the contract within 14 days and notify the
contractor.
The contractor will sent up an appointment with you and do the installation.
Alameda P&T will inspect the installation.
When the installation is approved, Alameda P&T will pay the contractor 80%.
The contractor will bill you or the landlord for the remaining 20%.
