WebMail Gets Pumped Up WebMail Interface

It's New and Improved!

Alameda Power & Telecom is proud to announce its new and improved AlamedaNET WebMail service.

WebMail is a fully functional email tool that can be accessed through a web browser from any terminal on the Internet, anywhere in the world. To access WebMail, simply follow the 'AlamedaNET / WebMail' link at the top of any page in the site or go directly to the http://www.alamedanet.net web site.

AlamedaNET WebMail offers all the functionality found in the most popular email clients such as support for multiple folders, file attachments, address books, draft messages, and signatures, as well as the high value and great service expected from Alameda Power & Telecom.

New WebMail Features

Our Web Mail has gotten much more than facelift; it's packed with new muscular features.

  • A brand new look and a more user-friendly interface
  • Spamcontrol tools and configurable mail filters with blacklist and whitelist controls
  • Self-managed personal email group distribution lists and contacts list (now renamed "Addresses")
  • Ability to send/receive text or html email and attachments
  • Spell checker
  • Ability to manage addresses and import your address book from common clients (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, etc)
  • A calendar datebook
  • Comprehensive online help documentation

Spamcontrol

Spamcontrol is a security system that can minimize the amount of unwanted junk email entering your Inbox. Spamcontrol is completely free of charge with your AlamedaNET Internet service and does not require the additional purchase or installation of any software.

The Spamcontrol module gives you control over how incoming suspected junk email is handled and how aggressively you'd like the filtering to be. Your Spamcontrol settings have been automatically set to "Low" sensitivity. This option will stop the most common junk mail from being delivered to your Inbox and is least likely to accidentally block your real email. You could select the option to "Quarantine Suspected Junk Mail." This option will hold suspected junk mail in a Quarantine folder in WebMail for up to 10 days. Finally, selecting the option "Delete Suspected Junk Mail" will delete junk mail when it is detected.
