CABLE FAILURE CAUSES OUTAGE

ALAMEDA, Calif., June 22, 2005 — Electric service to much of Bay Farm Island and portions of the East End of the Main Island was interrupted this morning due to the failure of a main feeder cable. The outage began at approximately 8:47 a.m. Alameda Power & Telecom switched to alternate circuitry, and power was restored to all customers by 9:04 a.m., 17 minutes later. Some 2,500 customers were affected.
