ARRA ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF THE DRAFT PRELIMINARY DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT (PDC)

ALAMEDA, Calif., June 28, 2005 — The Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority (ARRA) is pleased to announce the availability of the draft Preliminary Development Concept (PDC).

Interested parties may access the document via the Alameda Point website at www.alameda-point.com. Copies also are available for purchase through the City Development Services Department located in City Hall West, 950 W. Mall Square in Alameda Point. The cost of the printed document is $20. The Development Services Department may be reached at (510) 749-5800.

The PDC is the product of an 18-month process by City staff and consultants to incorporate community input into a plan that will shape the redevelopment of Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station, Alameda).

Through a series of six community meetings to develop the PDC, Alamedans had opportunities to discuss and provide recommendations to the ARRA on several important facets of the redevelopment of Alameda Point, including transportation, historic preservation, affordable housing, and open space and parks. The PDC will be presented to the ARRA Board, and public comments will be heard, at a Special Meeting on July 14, 2005, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, City Hall.
