ALAMEDA TV - TELEVISION CLOSE TO HOME
ALAMEDA, Calif., September 17, 2003 - Alameda Power & Telecom announces
the launch of a unique new website focused on its public, educational, and
government access channels. Under the umbrella, Alameda TV - Television Close
to Home, our community has convenient access to the many benefits offered by
the three channels and the system on which they are offered.
The new site,
www.alamedatv.org,
launches this Friday, September 19, and includes:
- Full programming schedules for all three Alameda TV channels
- Program descriptions
- Producer access information
- Alameda TV policies and operations information
- Alameda TV news
Public Access Channel 31 provides cable television public and community
programming produced or sponsored by Alameda residents and organizations.
Government Access Channel 15 carries local government programming made available
by City of Alameda. Later this fall, Educational Access Channel 33 will offer
educational programming sponsored or produced by the Alameda Unified School
District and other educational institutions.
Also, new programs soon will be featured on an expanded Channel 31 schedule.
Beginning on Tuesday evening, October 7,
"East
Bay Parks,"
"Smart
Healthy Babies - The First Five Years," "Electric Views," and
"Cinema Alameda" will be added to the lineup.
Later this fall, Alameda TV will present the world premiere of
"PlayBall! - Alameda's Sandlot Saga." The two-part series begins in the
year 1956 and paints a fascinating portrait of joy, dedication, and
accomplishment that made playing baseball in Alameda an unforgettable
experience.
