ALAMEDA POWER & TELECOM PRESENTS MONSTER ISLAND THEATER
ALAMEDA, Calif., October 21, 2003 - Everyone loves a scary movie,
especially on and around Halloween. That's why Alameda Power & Telecom's
Alameda TV is gravely proud to present a special Halloween trick
or treat at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday,
October 30 and Friday, October 31: Monster Island Theater.
Hosted by Vicki Vampyr, Alameda's Ghouly Girl of the Midnight Hour, the
cablecast will not only offer the classic "Bride of the Monster"
but also some monstrously great surprises during the cablecast on Channel 31.
It will be a time for Alamedans to turn off the lights (to both set the mood and
show good energy management), turn on the TV, grab some candy corn and a security
blanket, and take time for Monster Island Theater.
Alameda TV's public access channel provides cable television public and
community programming produced or sponsored by Alameda residents and
organizations. Alameda TV has recently expanded to 2 nights each week,
adding such programs as "The First 5 Years," "East Bay
Escapes," and "Cinema Alameda." Established programs such as
"The Don Roberts Show" and "Gayble TV" continue in their
regular Wednesday evening time slots.
Other recent programming has included a special cablecast of Senator Dianne
Feinstein's visit to Alameda and a "Know Your Ballot" program sponsored
by The League of Women's Voters.
Later this fall, Alameda TV will present the world premiere of
"PlayBall! — Alameda's Sandlot Saga." The two-part series begins
in the year 1956 and paints a fascinating portrait of joy, dedication, and
accomplishment that made playing baseball in Alameda an unforgettable experience.
