TREE CAUSES OUTAGE

ALAMEDA, Calif., December 9, 2003 - The combination of moderate wind, rain, and an errant tree resulted in an outage affecting roughly 3,000 Alameda Power & Telecom customers Tuesday evening.

Many residents and businesses in neighborhoods west of Sherman Street lost power at 4:44 p.m. when a tree crossed a primary distribution circuit along Shorepoint Court. Power to most customers was restored within approximately 1 hour by switching to alternate circuitry.
