PUB COMMISSIONER CONTINUES ON POWER AGENCY BOARD
ALAMEDA, Calif., October 21, 2004 -
At its regular meeting Monday evening, Alameda's Public Utilities Board acted to reappoint Commissioner Sebastian M. Baldassarre
to serve on the board of the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA).
As a result, Commissioner Baldassarre will assist in directing a joint powers agency with assets in excess of $1 billion.
Commissioner Baldassarre noted, "It is an honor to have the continued confidence of the Board to represent the interests of
Alameda and its citizens in this venue."
It will be his fourth year of service as an NCPA commissioner. He has served on Alamedas Public Utilities Board for the past 8 years.
NCPA provides electric power to Alameda Power & Telecom, a department of the City of Alameda and the oldest municipal electric
utility west of the Mississippi. NCPA was formed in 1968 and is generally empowered to purchase, generate, transmit, distribute,
and sell electric energy for the benefit of the present 15 members and 7 associate members.
Commissioner Baldassarre has over 30 years of utility management experience, as well as holding a baccalaureate degree in
Management in Business Administration from San Beda College.
