ALAMEDA P&T BOOSTS SPEEDS, LOWERS PRICES FOR INTERNET SERVICES
ALAMEDA, Calif., July 26, 2005 -
Alameda Power & Telecom has announced that, effective August 7, download speeds for almost all its Internet access services
will increase, prices on its popular AlamedaNET Residential Lite will decrease, and an additional bundled pricing option will
be available.
"This is great news for all our AlamedaNET customers," said Valerie Fong, General Manager.
"Our subscribers get an even better product at no additional cost,
and many of our customers actually will see their bills go down."
"One of our commitments is to offer the maximum choice to our customers.
Our array of Internet access services ensures that there's the right product at the right price for everyone," she continued.
AlamedaNET Residential Lite offers download speeds of up to 1 megabit per second for just $19.99 per month.
"That's a performance increase of over 160% and a drop in price of almost 25%. It's also true high-speed,
broadband service for the price of dial-up," according to Fong.
The AlamedaNET Basic download speed will double, from 1.5 to 3.0 megabits per second, at no additional cost.
AlamedaNET Premium customers will see their download speeds jump from 3.0 to 4.0 megabits per second, and if they bundle
their service with an Alameda P&T cable television subscription, the cost of the service drops $5.49 per month, or 13%,
to $37.50.
Alameda P&T expects it soon will increase the download speed for the AlamedaNET Premium Plus service and add another level
of service, AlamedaNET Ultra, to the four now available. Designed as commercial services, AlamedaNET Premium Plus download
speeds will increase to 5.0 to 6.0 megabits per second, and AlamedaNET Ultra download speeds will range from 8.0 to 10.0
megabits per second.
Fong adds, "AlamedaNET packages offer additional features that truly set them above and apart from the
'one-size-fits-all' products offered by other providers."
In order to exceed customer expectations, Alameda P&T continues to upgrade its system and service design and broaden
its telecommunications offerings. For more information on AlamedaNET or to subscribe,
