SUPPLY SYSTEM DISRUPTION CAUSES OUTAGE

ALAMEDA, Calif., October 17, 2005 - All Alameda Power & Telecom electric customers lost power briefly Saturday afternoon due to a supply system malfunction outside Alameda.

Alameda Power & Telecom receives some transmission services from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. A problem occurred on the PG&E system at 3:00 p.m. that resulted a loss of power at its Moraga Substation. Bulk power for the Alameda Power & Telecom system was flowing through the Moraga facility.

Due to redundancies built into our municipal system, power was restored to Alameda Power & Telecom customers within approximately 90 seconds.
