Officer Steve Deutsche and Sergeant Don Owyang forced entry into a building to save the life of a distraught Alameda resident who had attempted suicide by hanging.

The officers successfully elevated the subject and were able to cut the rope. The subject was rushed to Alameda Hospital where he was treated.

The subject survived and has since thanked the officers for saving his life and giving him a second chance at living.
