Andrew Ochoa, seeing smoke billowing from a home near where he works, pulled away the bars on the bedroom's security windows and climbed through the window. Hearing the man moaning, he "told him to keep on screaming" so that he could find him in the thick smoke. He located the victim and dragged him to the window and through it to safety, where firefighters who had just arrived treated him for smoke inhalation. Having the Courage to act quickly, Mr. Ochoa saved the man from serious injury or worse.
