Nominations

Nominations for Awards

Nominations for the Awards come from the community. The categories include:

 

Act of Courage Award: Nominee performed an extraordinary act of courage.

Act of Kindness Award: Nominee performed an act of extraordinary kindness or unselfishness that helped make a difference for an individual, family, or group.

Community Service Award - Individual: Nominee performed an extraordinary community service.The act can involve any event or program that made a difference for the Alameda community.

Community Service Award - Business and/or Organization: The business or organization performed an extraordinary community service.The act can involve any event or program for the Alameda community.

Firefighter/EMT Award: Nominee performed an act of bravery and dedication on or off duty.

Law Enforcement Award: Nominee performed an act of bravery and dedication on or off duty.

Military Award: Nominee performed an act of bravery and dedication on or off duty.

Community Service Award – Youth: To honor the outstanding commitment and contributions made by youth to their community.

Citizen of the Year Award: For extraordinary service to the community of Alameda over a period of 10 or more years.

Primary focus is on heroic acts that occurred in the City of Alameda.
