April 18th was not only the 99th anniversary of the Great San Francisco Earthquake, it was also the premiere date for a special film produced by the American Red Cross Bay Area, the Alameda Fire Dept. and Alameda Power & Telecom. The film is a major component in an initiative that will help create a Disaster Resistant Alameda. What's It All About, Alameda?The Together We Prepare - A Disaster Resistant Alameda initiative seeks to train 20,000 Alameda residents, over a quarter of Alameda's population, in disaster preparedness. The half-hour film, produced by the staff of Alameda Power & Telecom's Alameda TV, features steps that can be taken before and after and emergency event. Some 5,000 DVDs will be distributed throughout our community. Details on how to get your own copy of the DVD appear to the right. Watch on Alameda's Public Access TV ChannelsThe program is be cablecast on Alameda Power & Telecom cable television public access Channel 31.
